Shopping in Brighton can be such a pleasure. You can avoid the usual high street suspects and dive into some of the lovely independant stores, finding unsual brands and local products instead. There are a few places I like to pop into each time I go, and Milla Grace is definitely one to visit if you’re around the city.
Milla Grace is an independant boutique filled with beautiful clothes, jewellery and homeware. Lydia and Vashikeh have incredible taste and they display all their products impeccably- the whole store looks just like your ideal home, with lovely furniture, sleek white walls and gorgeous pastel artwork on the walls, not to mention the clothes all curated along the rails. I went along to the store last Friday with a load of other Brighton blogger girlies to view their new autumn winter products and I fell pretty hard for quite a few things this time around. I absolutely loved their displays, with gold leaves hanging along the windows, their new clothes styled together and a table full of gorgeous nick nacks. I must have picked up every candle to sniff and tried on every ring! They have a great range of interesting brands and also support other local businesses like the lovely Parkminster Candles (We got one in our goody bag and I couldn’t help buying another! They smelt too good!) which are made in Sussex. I also really appreciate that there is something at every price range. The clothes are on a par price wise with somewhere like Whistles, as you would expect from high quality fabrics, cuts and brands, but there are many pieces which are very affordable, like the candles, artwork and jewellery. Vashikeh and Lydia wanted to make things accessible and it is great to walk into a boutique and know you can enjoy browsing without feeling like you don’t belong (anyone else get that in some boutiques? I call it the Pretty Woman problem…) I have got my eye on quite a few things for Christmas presents already, and am already looking forward to popping back. I think I may end up trying on that skirt, it is calling my name! I’ve got to say a huge thank you to the girls at Milla Grace for letting me have a preview, and to Lilla for all the organising. It was a fantastic evening.
If you’re in Brighton then pop into their shop on Duke’s Street or you can have a browse online (their online store is as pretty as their brick and mortar store!)
