chambray and curls springtime looking over the pond

Doing: a lot of catching up with one of my greatest friends Lola (who also blogs at Pastime Bliss). She came all the way down from Manchester to stay for a long weekend and it has been the best. I’ve been showing her all the delights that the area has to offer. We spent Friday in Brighton, taking Lola on a whistlestop tour of all the sights and best places to eat and shop. Saturday was dedicated to hardcore charity shop trawling for a bit of a spring wardrobe refresh, before coming home and sitting in pyjamas to watch Mamma Mia with facemasks and painting our nails. Then today we took advantage of the glorious weather and headed to Charleston Farmhouse, to soak up the countryside and the beauty in the house and gardens. I’ve just taken her back to the train station and I’m a little sad that the weekend flew by quite so fast. Friends are the best.
Loving: This spring sunshine letting me have my first cup of tea outside at the table, and the fact that our cherry tree has burst into the most glorious display of blossom. I cannot help but smile every time I look out the windows and see the flurry of soft pink petals everywhere.
Wearing: Loose shirts and light jeans. It is still way  too cold for me to hack bare legs, so whilst the skirts and dresses hang in my wardrobe, I’m enjoying not having to bundle up like crazy.
Daydreaming: of nothing much! It has been such a gorgeous week that I have just been soaking it all up. Life is good.

Links of the week:
Bee and Lyzi have been inspiring me to get doodling again, with Bee wrecking her journal and Lyzi creating creative prompts for the month. I’m trying to do some sketching and playing about every couple of days. It is nice to make and experiment without pressure to produce anything ‘good’.
I smiled to see this little guide to Eastbourne on Cat’s blog. Small seaside towns are always treasure troves for pretty bits and pieces.
Miista are a shoe brand I regularly perve over online, and I really like this little article about their production process. I love seeing and knowing how things get made. It always leaves me in awe at the skills people have in manufacturing.
