Sometimes there are moments where I find myself thinking ‘only in Brighton’. Brighton always has something going on and things are especially buzzy right now, with Brighton Festival kicking off and the Great Escape Escape Festival taking place over the weekend. Arriving on Saturday to a flashmob of retired people dancing with Tai Chi -like movements in the station kind of set the mood for the afternoon really! I met up with Lauren and walked down to the Lush store, where we had been invited to a hushush secret pop up gig. Gathering with a load of other Brighton gals, we were ushered past security, given lovely bags of goodies and set up our places to watch Dizraeli and the Small Gods. Did you know Lush has its own record label? Kind of cool. Standing in the store packed with people, surrounded by the scents of all the Lush products around us, listening to the seashanty-ish/folk-y/hiphop-y words of Dizraeli was pretty surreal. Definitely a Brighton moment…
