Otis, Black and white cat

Doing: A lot of crying. It has been a tough week over here, full of difficult decisions. You might have seen me explain on instagram, but our sweet little adopted kitty was really struggling adjusting to our flat, even 3 months down the line, to the point that he was getting stressed and sick. After lots of discussion with our vets and the RSPCA, he is being found a new home. Definitely one of the most grown up decisions we’ve had to make, and it was pretty heartbreaking, Our flat is feeling pretty lonesome without this little one chasing around and giving us cuddles in the evening, but we’ve been told he already has the full run of his foster house. We know that this whole experience will help them find the right place for his forever home, it is just pretty gutting that we couldn’t be it… How is it we can fall so in love with our pets? It is such a wrench to say goodbye.
Loving: Sleep. All that emotion is exhausting and I’ve been totally wiped out this week. 9pm bedtimes all round! I’m looking forward to feeling a little refreshed and life getting going again.
Wearing: All of my autumn clothes, it feels like. The constant grey skies and drizzle have not helped recently and I’m feeling more than a little fed up of staring at a wardrobe of clothes I can’t wear! Jeans and jumpers all day every day right now… so uninspiring!
Daydreaming: Of the sunshine. We’ve just booked all the final details for our honeymoon, at the end of this month. I cannot wait to be in the sunshine, exploring new places and generally adventuring with my love. Bring on the prosecco, olives and gelato! (Psst if anyone has any suggestions of what to do or places to go in the south east of Sicily, let me know!)

Despite things not going as planned with Otis, we are still major supporters of the RSPCA and pet adoption. We are going to wait until we have a bigger home, in a year or two, but we will adopt again and I totally encourage anyone wanting a pet, to look at adoption first. Just look at all these sweet babies needing a home! Adopt, don’t buy.

I love Rianna Phillips‘ work (this clutch is such a fave) and her blog has been especially great reading recently, talking about her new collection and her studio space. Why is it that the behind the scenes stuff is so interesting? I love hearing about the thought processes behind, and the work involved in making the pieces I adore. Bonus points for her being a ridiculously cool Manchester gal!
