Despite being a total beauty addict, I have never really had Beauty Boxes. They always felt like a bit too much of an extravagance on my student budget but I always loved checking out the sites and blog reviews to see what was going on (and often kicking myself for not getting on the bandwagon!) So, it is no surprise that I have loved trying out the Lookfantastic Beauty Boxes over the last few months.
The January Beauty Box has been all about Detoxing your beauty regime and the goodies inside match that perfectly. For me there are two standout products- the Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo and the Lancer Method: Polish. The Kebelo shampoo really cleanses all the residue from products away without stripping my dry curls and the Lancer Method is something I have been SO intrigued by since writing about them for work. If it is good enough for Kim K and Victoria Beckham…
So after trying Beauty Boxes for a few months, what do I think?
I actually love having these boxes each month. The boxes are always gorgeous and they do feel like a real treat for not that much money. I really love the little extras that come with it too- the magazine is full of tips and beauty articles and the #lfbeautybox tags on twitter and instagram are full of beautiful photos and advice from the brands. As for the products, the sizes are always great and I like the chance to try out new brands or products before I buy full-size. I have come across some total favourites that I never would have bought myself before- the Look Good Feel Better make up brush. the Ole Henriksen Facewash and the Dr PawPaw lipbalm all get used every day! Alright, some weren’t right for me (only my bank balance is happy that the Eve Lom Cleanser breaks me out) but those I haven’t loved have always found a good home with friends and family.
With Valentine’s day coming up. I’m looking forward to seeing what is next. What do you think of Beauty Boxes? Do you treat yourself or anyone else to a Beauty Box subscription?
