I love living in Manchester but the hardest thing about moving up North was leaving my mum and my sister back down South. I never see them enough for my liking and once again I won’t be around for Mother’s Day. Last weekend though my mum came to Manchester so we managed to have a early little Mother’s Day treat together- a pamper session!
Without fail, every time I see my mum, she asks for a play with all my beauty products. She rarely buys them for herself, so it is always fun to save up things I think she’ll like and then have an afternoon making her feel fab. I usually have a bundle ready for her and then the things she loves, she keeps hold of. We do all the pampering, from face and hair masks to mani-pedis, usually with many cups of tea and lots of nattering. Then I do all her makeup and we head out somewhere nice together. Honestly, these afternoons are usually some of my favourite with my mum. It is rare we have time just the two of us and it is just one of those things that only we do together. If you’re looking for Mother’s Day inspiration, I totally recommend it!

Face masks are a must for any DIY spa session but my
The smell of this is so incredible and it makes a proper treat of nourishing you hair. Plus, my mum loved that it made her hair all bouncy afterwards!
A really luxurious little giftset. My mum totally adored this lip plumping serum- it tingles a little bit on the lips and makes them immediately look fuller but apparently also helps reduce fine lines around the mouth longterm.
The perfect mix of subtle and fun. Boom Boom Pow might be my favourite nail varnish ever and my mum can’t help but smile when I add a little sparkle to her mani.
My mum doesn’t tend to wear foundation so this is the perfect halfway house for her. I actually really like this too, it is so perfect for those more casual days and gives a lovely even, glowing finish.
What are your Mother’s Day traditions? Do you ever do little home spa sessions like this?
